Kingdom Come State Park, situated on Pine Mountain in eastern Kentucky, provides incredible views of the Kentucky mountains and the Cumberland Plateau.
The park was named after the popular book The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come, by Kentucky writer John Fox, Jr. Recently, the park has become well known for its black bear population and is the site of an annual Black Bear Festival.
The beauty of Kingdom Come State Park has not gone un-noticed, and Kentucky is now considering developing it to become a state resort park.
This film documents the history of this park (which lies in the midst of Kentucky coal country) and the excitement around its future status as a state resort park in Kentucky's state park system.
The film includes interviews with local residents and park officials and songs by local musicians who are devoted to the park in its current and future status.
